The EMS Student Council focuses on making our school a better place for students to learn and grow, as well as giving back to our community, peers, and school.

Film Team

In Film Team, members will write their own original scripts allowing them to explore their creativity and collaborate on their storytelling.  Once the scripts are written, the members will take on various roles, from actors to directors, to bring their stories to life through performance.  Finally, the members will delve into the world of editing to create a final production.

Pep Club will engage students and build school spirit. It will support and elevate excitement for school events.

Playing board games brings people closer, strengthens relationships and can help you meet new people. Board games help develop critical thinking, problem solving and reasoning skills.  Playing also reduces stress and makes a student feel calmer.

Rangers Makers Club

Students will meet in the makerspace to make things as well as find ways to fundraise for the makerspace. We will have occasional Make & Take meetings, where students will make an item or project and then take it home. Some Mondays will have other activities, which will be STEM Challenges.

The Library Leaders Group will be a student group that meets to help improve the library in our school by promoting the library and its materials. Some activities might be to start a book club, fundraise, book talks, invite authors to speak, etc. Meetings will take place after school on Wednesdays.

Quizbowl Club

Quizbowl is a fast paced trivia based competition club that will be meeting Monday's after school. It is a good way to get involved in an activity that will transfer over to the high school level and make connections with people who have similar interests as them.

Garden club members grow, and care for all plants. We learn about sustainability, gardening basics and the environment, while gaining responsibility and teamwork skills.

Soccer Club presents a fun opportunity for students of all skill levels to get together and learn soccer skills through games and activities.

Science club focuses on ways to make EMS a greener, more sustainable environment. We focus on reducing waste at EMS and increasing our recycling. We also work with the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo to collect old electronics and broken holiday lights.

FIRST Lego League

FIRST Lego League is a competition where the students will build a robot to complete as many missions autonomously in two and a half minutes to score points. They will also be presenting a solution to a problem based on this year's theme of FIRST in Show where the students are asked to share their hobbies and interests with others in a creative way.

Jazz Band

šŸŽ· Join the Middle School Jazz Band! šŸŽ¶ If you’re in grades 7 or 8 and are in band, we’d love to have you in our jazz band!  (Guitar and bass do not have to be in band but must audition.)   We rehearse every Friday from 3:20 to 5:00 PM and play exciting music!!!  Bring your instrument, a good attitude, and a love for music! Come see what jazz band is all about and join the fun!
